Reno, NV

We are back home in Reno.

After an always nice stay at Jackson Rancheria we left Saturday mid-morning and made the 4 hour trip on I-80 over the Sierra's arriving home around 2:30PM.

Now we can get some things done, like taxes, around here and of course get ready to fly to Wisconsin for daughter Kimi's wedding in early April.

Plan now is to be back in Reno on April 16th and head out again around May 1st. This next trip will take us up the No. California Oregon Washington coast and from there who knows.

Thanks for following us along on our first extended trip and hope you enjoyed.

Jackson, CA

Today we made a 5 hour 300 mile run from Bakersfield, CA to Jackson, CA and the Jackson Rancheria Casino Resort arriving a little after 1PM.

We've stayed here before for the Wine Crush (grape harvest for the wineries in the area) in October and a great place.

Plan is to keep an eye on the weather going over I-80 and Donner summit on the way home to Reno. Right now it looks like Saturday or Sunday should work.

Bakersfield, CA

Yesterday we made a 4 hour drive from the Palm Springs area and out of the desert arriving at the Orange Grove RV Park about 1pm. Very nice place with orange trees at every site...and the oranges are juicy and delicious. Nice to feel some humidity again while keeping the warm temps.

Lots of snow birds staying overnight on their way back North and the park was almost full yesterday.

We were planning on staying 2 nights but like this park and area so much will be here now until next Wednesday. Sunny with temps into the low 80's today.

Amenities include spotlessly clean restroom and shower facilities, large laundry rooms, fully equipped gym, outdoor pool, entertainment and billiards room, and free Wi-Fi site-wide. They have whatever you want and need in an RV park and resort, as well as beautiful grounds. A 40-acre orchard in Bakersfield where you can park your rig between row after row of beautiful orange trees. Pull thru spaces are 65' and 90' long plus extra wide, which makes coming and going a breeze. Pull right in, pick an orange and enjoy.

Next stop will be the Jackson Rancheria for a couple of days and waiting for a good weather day to head over I-80 and home.
