Back Home in Reno

After another great winter with friends in S. AZ (that started last October) we arrived back home yesterday the 24th.

Fun week with Mike & Mary in Pahrump including the best Thai food we've ever had. If ever in the area enjoy a delicious experience at My Thai. It's been a year since we were there but it was like the first time ever...so good, so good!!!

Monday we did a 5 hour drive to Hawthorne, NV for an overnight at Whiskey Flats RV Park.  This has been an annual stop on our way home.

Yesterday it was a 2.5 run to Reno via Carson City. Arrived a little after 12 noon and immediately went to work unloading everything, including the basement storage, of not only what we brought down but also a few things we accumulated.

A few things to do today and then it's out to storage in northern Sparks, NV tomorrow at Dennis & Bev's. No plans YET for summer trips but I'm sure there will be.

Sorry no more pics to add.

More when we have something new....safe travels all.

Pahrump, NV

As planned we did stay overnight in Quartzsite but then our plans changed again.

Decided to go straight to Pahrump on Sunday negating another overnight enroute. Turns out the travel time would be about the same as we just did and figured going threw Vegas on Sunday instead of Monday would have less traffic.

Another reason was Pahrump has a very high wind warning for today and into Tuesday;

WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 AM PDT /3 AM MST/
TUESDAY...
* TIMING...Winds will increase Monday morning, peak in the
afternoon and evening, and decrease overnight.
* WINDS...West to southwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts around
50 mph.
* IMPACTS...Strong winds can blow down power lines, blow away
loose objects, raise large amounts of dust, and make driving
and boating dangerous.

It was a little breezy Sunday and glad we made the decision to travel then. After a 5 hour run from 'Q' arrived at Wine Ridge Resort about 2:00pm. After setting up and having a mini-happy hour went out for pizza, something we all were hungry for. Nicco's Pizza is our favorite choice.

We are 2 spots away from Mary & Mike. Plan now is to be here until Monday the 23rd then leave for home in Reno arriving the 25th after an overnight in Hawthorne at Whiskey Flats RV Park.

We'll probably have some updates from here before heading for home.

Safe travels for those still on the road somewhere.

Ready to move on again

Final programming of the new computer board that controls the leveling system completed today.

Made a run to the local Kroger store to replenish some things. High winds is forecasted to diminish overnight and we'll head out Saturday morning (tomorrow).

Change of plans getting to Pahrump.

Saturday overnight in Quartzsite, AZ and another Sunday just south of Searchlight NV. Monday we arrive at Wine Ridge RV Resort for a week.

More later...

Moved all of 10 miles yesterday...Fort Huachuca, AZ

We have an auto leveler problem with the rig but were able to get hooked up yesterday at Tombstone Territories and drive 10 miles West to RV City a dealer we last visited in 2013.

Problem isolated and new computer board on the way. We are behind the dealership in a nice site at the Mountain View RV Park and if the part gets in on Wednesday we will leave for Pahrump. If the part doesn't arrive until the afternoon we will probably head out and stay overnight at our Winter home...the Silverado RV Resort a drive of about 2 hours.

Then Thursday leave and stay overnight at the KOA in Needles, CA before going to Pahrump on Friday.

Everything subject to change of course.

Here are a few pics from our last night at Tombstone Territories...sorry if they look similar but you would have to be here to really appreciate the view right out the back of your site;

Now the view out the back here at Mounain View RV Park with Fort Huachuca in the distance:

Stay tuned.....

Saturday Trip to Tombstone

Always fun to visit the historic town of Tombstone, AZ.

We only stayed a couple of hours on this trip but saw what we wanted to see...like shopping in all the western stores along the famous Allen St. Even scored a couple of items pics of which will be put up on another post.

Here are a couple of pics (click on pic to enlarge) to view;

Betty walking into town.

Even had some wild horses in the Rose Parade...Ford Mustangs that is!

Arizona Rangers

We will be back again.

Back at Tombstone Territories RV Resort

Left our winter home at the Silverado about 11:30am yesterday and after a short 2 hour trip arrived at a familiar place from years back.

Tough time sleeping last night for me...no trains or Interstate anywhere near here. The only city lights in view are from Tombstone which is 9 miles away but in sight across the wide open spaces.

Anyway we are settled in on a great site with nothing but desert mountain views. Baxter and Duffy love the off leash dog park that has real grass.

Don't plan on doing much but hanging out today and then tomorrow and Sunday will visit Tombstone for the Rose Festival and more. We are now at 4,500+' elevation but temps about the same as back in Eloy...mid to high 80's.

The following pics;

About 5:45am (Baxter needed to go out) a gorgeous sunrise...

About an hour later....
