Back Home in Reno

We arrived home in Reno around 12:30pm after about a 3 hour run from Hawthorne.

Pic from our site at Whisky Flats yesterday.

Saw lots of snow up in the Sierra's on the way...lots! We came through Carson City heading up to Reno on the I-580. There is a a lake called Washoe on the East side of the Interstate and last year it was a dry lake bed...you could have walked across and not gotten wet. WOW!! The Washoe is FULL...in fact the West banks are VERY close to the 580.

Click here to view on You Tube Washoe Lake today.

Anyways....now it's unpacking, cleaning and winding down after an excellent 6 month Winter stay in S. AZ with so many good friends we've come to love over the last few years.

Plan is to arrive back in S. AZ Nov. 1 for another Winter coming back home in April 2018.

Update from Hawthorne NV

Getting close to home now...Reno local channels on our satellite TV.  😀

Nice stay in Pahrump and last night we had a farewell (until the next time) dinner with Mike & Mary at Nicco's Pizza...delicious!

Arrived at Whiskey Flats RV Park  around 2:30pm after about a 4:30 hour run. We've stayed here a few times and it is always a nice stop over. Mountains of course all around and we did see snow (think we saw Mammoth and the snow looked deep) on many peaks. Cooler temps now than what we've been use too....69 when we arrived and going into the 30's tonight....snuggle time!! 😍

We are about 145 miles from home...about a 2:30 drive tomorrow.

Extending in Pahrump....

Liking the area and have decided to stay a few more days so now.....

We'll leave for an overnight in Hawthorne, NV on Wednesday then home in Reno on Thursday. Weather will be warming up by then hopefully.

Going to an Easter brunch dinner tonight with Mary & Mike at one of the local casino's here in Pahrump so no cooking again in the rig. Last night's dinner at Mai Tai was delicious.

Happy Easter everyone and for friends in Reno we'll see you soon.

Back in Nevada!

Short Update...

After a nice  3 day stay with Mary & Mike in Lake Havasu City we made about a 3+ hour run arriving in Pahrump, NV around 1:30pm. Was a good idea to leave today instead of Saturday as most of the winds subsided and what there was was mostly a head wind. Only 66 today but warming close to 80 for the rest of the week.

We are at Preferred RV Resort until the 17th when we leave foe an overnight in Hawthorne before getting home the next day. Looking at the weather in Reno lately we may delay a bit more. 😉

Mike & Mary will arrive here on Thursday (they signed up for a week in LHC at their member park) so we get to spend a couple more days with them for dinners and fun before we split for the summer. They love the My Thai restaurant here in Pahrump and that will be a for sure experience.

Heard from friends Norma and Steve who use to live in Reno and now the Fallon, NV area.. They are on the way here for a Good Sam's rally and hopefully we can do a visit.

No pics with this entry but will have on the next.....

Oh OK....here are a couple off pics....

Our handsome boy Baxter;

And Duffy...looking forward to getting him home.

Lake Havasu City

Travel Update!

Arrived in Lake Havasu City yesterday around 3:30 after an uneventful 5 hour run. Just as warm here as in Eloy with temps in the 90's...got down to 65 last night! 😎

We are at Havasu Falls RV Resort and here is the view this morning from our site.

Baxter and Duffy got a bath a few days ago with help from friend Mary our next door neighbor. This is 2 years in a row that Mary & Tom, who are from Boise, have been next door.

Here are a couple of pics of Duffy getting his first bath on the road.

We were planning on 2 overnights here but with high wind warnings in place Saturday from here to Pahrump we'll leave Sunday now.

Packin' Up for the Trip Home

Been awhile since our last entry but it's just that we've been doing the stuff we have grown to enjoy over the last couple of years in the area with old and new friends.

Lot off people have headed out over the last couple weeks and the park is looking pretty bare but that is the norm this time of year. Today we cleaned and packed up things for our trip North and it starts tomorrow.

We will be traveling with Mike & Mary who full time in their Class A motorhome and our first stop is Lake Havasu City. We were planning 2 nights but it looks like high winds Saturday so we'll probably leave Sunday now.

Next stop is Pahrump, NV about 60+ miles Northwest of Las Vegas. We plan on staying about 1 week before heading home with an overnight in Hawthorne, NV.

Our stay here has really gone by fast but it's time to get home and we look forward to being with friends there.

Oh...reservations already made for coming back here with a tentative arrival of Nov.1.
