Hawthorne, NV

Left Reno about 10:30am today and drove to Hawthorne, NV which is about a 3 hour drive.

Stayed overnight at a very nice campground called Whiskey Flats RV Park and by our photos below you'll see how how 'flat' it is.

Hawthorne is at the south end of Walker Lake which is a very large lake and provided a great view going in.

Next stop Las Vegas.

Jackson Rancheria - Jackson, CA

Jackson Ranceria is one of the best places we've stayed at. Ginny and Greg joined us with their rig.

So good to see Katy again who drove up from her home in Sonora, CA.and stayed a couple of days.

Located in a beautiful, secluded forest setting, Jackson Rancheria RV Park is only minutes away from all the action at the Casino, as well as the Historic Mother Lode Gold Country and wineries.

Hat Creek Hereford Ranch RV Park & Campground - Hat Creek, CA.

We camped here with the Silver Wheels RV Group out of Reno/Sparks with great friends. You'll see by the photos that we all had a great stay albeit some had to leave early becuase of heavy smoke from a huge forest fire in the area.

Hat Creek is located in Shasta County, California and is situated at an elevation of 3,422 feet (1,043 m). The 2010 United States census reported Hat Creek's population was 309.

Hat Creek is located 26 miles (42 km) north of Lassen Park, 13 miles (21 km) southeast of Burney (9 miles (14 km) south of the junction of hwy 89 and 299), and 15 miles (24 km) south of Burney Falls. Hat Creek is home to the Hat Creek Radio Observatory, run by SRI International.

The town's main economies are tourism, fishing, camping, and lodging. It's still a travel hot spot in Shasta County, although it's about 70 miles (110 km) east of Redding, California and about the same to Susanville, California.

Grass Valley, CA.

First time at Grass Family with the Silver Wheels camping group. Event at the fairgrounds which was very nice.

Whether you’re visiting one of the Fairground’s activities or visiting our area for a vacation, the RV park at the Nevada County Fairgrounds is open year-round. We are an RV park in a campground setting. Our facilities are nestled among tall pine trees, providing a serene setting and encouraging a safe camping experience. The Fairgrounds are centrally located in the heart of Nevada County, near the historic towns of Grass Valley and Nevada City. The RV Park has 44 sites with full hook-ups, approximately 100 sites with water and power hook-ups, and numerous RV sites without hook-ups throughout the grounds.
