Thanksgiving Day Plans 2017

Call us 'creatures of habit'...we like to think of it as 'creatures of a good/delicious thing'.

Thanksgiving Day Dinner will be a treat again this Thursday for the same 6 of us like 2016.

Here is the Menu for where we are going and only 20 minutes away;

Here is a refresher where we'll be...The Francisco Grande Resort.

A little History;

"The Francisco Grande dates back to 1959 when San Francisco Giants owner Horace Stoneham developed the property as a spring training camp for his popular Major League Baseball team. Then Arizona Governor Paul Fannin attended the dedication before the first exhibition game in 1961, as did National League president Warren Giles, to an overflowing crowd. Optimism swirled like desert dust devils when Willie Mays hit a 375-foot home run off Gaylord Perry in the forth inning of the first ever game at Francisco Grande. "Francisco" was taken from the San "Francisco" Giants and "Grande" was taken from Casa "Grande"; thus the name "Francisco Grande."

While Willie Mays, Willie McCovey and Juan Marichal were honing their Hall of Fame skills, the Resort became an exclusive and intimate desert hideaway for Hollywood elites. Legends such as John Wayne, Dale Robertson, Pat Boone, and Gale Gordon made the Francisco Grande their home away from home."

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Night pics of the 'Beaver' moon

Few more from just inside our RV park entrance.

Went to dinner at a newer Mexican restaurant in Casa Grande last night and on the way back saw the moon just rising on the horizon....huge yellow/brown and gorgeous. But no pics as we were going about 70 down I-10.

Beaver Moon in Eloy, AZ

According to folklore, the Full Moon in November is named after beavers who become active while preparing for the winter.

It is also known as Frosty Moon, and along with the December Full Moon some called it Oak Moon.

Traditionally, if the Beaver Moon is the last Full Moon before the winter solstice, it is also called the Mourning Moon.

Eloy, Arizona

Arrived Wednesday the 25th in Eloy and our winter home at the Silverado RV Resort.

We added another stop enroute as we visited Mike & Mary on Tuesday the 24th in Lake Havasu City where they are staying until Nov. 1. They then will move down to the Silverado and have their site across from us until April.

Next arrivals will be Lynda and Bob from Michigan around Thanksgiving and their site is just behind us.

Tony and Dick from Appleton, WI will be here in early December and their site is next to Mike & Mary across the street.

Weather is in the 90's during the day and 60's at night...great sleeping!! Cooling into the 80'snext week.

Betty has been in the pool everyday along with 7-9 other gals. She is also getting things ready for the first Craft Show coming up on November 17th.

Pups are also glad to be here after the 5 day trip. They love to be off leash in the dog park. Lots of other dogs to play with also.

Putting up a couple of pics and will post more when we have them.

Safe travels for all on the road and trust everyone is fine.
The first sunrise after arrival.

Actually Betty took this photo about 60 miles out from
 Eloy...like he knew we were getting close.
