Had a great weekend on our 2nd of 3 local trips with Ginny & Greg before heading to the Oregon coast on May 15th.
Gold Ranch Casino & RV Resort is located West of the Reno-Sparks area just off I-80 and is a local gem. Surrounded by the Sierra's the view from our sites was breathtaking...even though we live close by and see the mountains every day. Still snow up in them thar hills but melting fast with temps in the 80's and clear skies.
Found an excellent place to eat that reminded me of some country bars back in Wisconsin. The Sasquatch Bar & Grill is only a couple of miles away from the campground with a very diversified menu which will satisfy just about anyone's palate. Fish & Chips, Prime Rib, Rib Eye steak, chicken a couple different ways, various dishes of seafood plus the big burgers and other sandwiches are on the menu. We had dinner there 2 nights and came back one morning for Eggs Benedict and Bloody Mary's after finding out they served breakfast also.
Gold Ranch even has their own casino and actually managed to leave on the + side.
Wednesday we go up in the Sierra's again only this time 16 miles Southeast to the old historic western town of Virginia City. Always enjoy our visits to VC as it is a great place to kickback...which we will.
More later...
