Lodi, CA

Headed to Lodi (3 hour run over the Sierra's) with Greg & Ginny (2 rigs) and stayed at Flag City RV Resort. Very nice CG to HQ while visiting some wineries and enjoying some tasting in the area. Friends Don & Lucienne from Reno joined us on Saturday staying with G&G in their rig.

We also did some dining and visited specialty shops in the downtown area. Found a great Cheese Shop that carried some Wisconsin product which we enjoyed.

Time flies and we all headed back to Reno on Monday.

Lodi California Wineries

With 85+ Lodi wineries, Lodi Wine Country offers an amazing variety of tasting opportunities. Visitors will find Lodi wine tasting rooms large and small, brand new and decades old. Although variety is abundant, one constant remains: the Lodi wine experience. Visitors to Lodi wineries will often find themselves sipping Lodi wine with a fourth-or-fifth generation winemaker, who is passionate about his product.

Lodi Wine Appellation

It is hard to talk about Lodi wineries without talking history. Lodi has been growing winegrapes since the mid 1800’s and today is the largest appellation in California with over 190,000 acres in production. Although known for our hearty Lodi zinfandels, the Lodi appellation is also the leading producer of viognier, chardonnay, merlot, and cabernet winegrapes.

Lodi Wine Events

Most weekends, Lodi wineries offer visitors opportunities to taste their award winning wines at unique events. Live music, barrel-tasting, Lodi wine dinners, food and wine pairings, and educational opportunities are abundant. Whether you are a wine connoisseur or new to the grape, you will find many fun and exciting things to do in Lodi Wine Country.

Next trip will be in early December as we travel to Casa Grande, AZ for the winter. We'll have more then.
